Review of Hot Fuzz (2007) by Shane M — 07 Jan 2014
The best stand-alone sequel ever! As good as Shaun of the Dead, and a welcome installment in the Cornetto Trilogy. The film benefits from its perfect direction, smart writing and dialogue, little or no use of action movie clichà (C)s, incredible action, nonstop laughs, and incredible acting.
The film shows that action movies set in the UK are good, and that Brits do have a thing for action. This film also shows that stand-alone successors can be good when done right. Worth watching for Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright fans.
