Review of Hostiles (2017) by Yosemite — 06 Feb 2018
Violent. Absorbing. Realistic. Bleak. Redemption. Humane. Message of anti violence. Slow moving in parts. Take your pick. Its all of the above. An interesting and well scripted plot, the acting and cinematography are very good.
Bale is well cast and excellent. Rosamund Pike is well cast and very good. Its part Dancing With Wolves and part Revenant . I think its better than both. Its not a feel good movie but is probably a more accurate portrayal of the West and how it was won.
I wouldn't have lasted long in the wild west.
