Just saw this on Netflix. It's really ironic that Christian Bale played Batman, because as I was watching Hostiles, I kept thinking of a line from Deadpool 2, when Deadpool tells Cable during their fight: "So dark...are you sure you're not from the DC universe?".
To say that film is a study in human misery would be an understatement, although I do think it it has some very good moments and a satisfying ending.
