Review of Hostiles (2017) by Armand J — 11 Jan 2018
I like the thought evoking nature of this film. Christian Bale was silent and troubled. My only criticism is it was trying to take on too many themes and almost a little too perfect. Some of the accents went from American to Irish on the same person.
Bale had a constipated look at times but Rosamund Pike was on hand to help him reflect on the nature of death. By the end of the film Bale had gone from blood thirsty Indian hater to having a deep love for one of his main adversaries.
The metamorphosis neatly complete.
