Review of Hostiles (2017) by Chad C — 23 Jan 2018
Those reviewers complaining about an exciting beginning and ending but a lag in the middle are completely missing the point of the film. The extremely violent episodes book ending the movie serve to illustrate the kinds of traumatic events that affect the psyche of the characters throughout.
The actor's portrayal of those who endured the kind of violence typical in the American west is superb. Viewers who've who pay attention to the subtleties of the character development "get it".
Anyone complaining about the movie "lagging" in the middle needs to go back to their mom's basement and continue playing "Call of Duty" to get their action thrills...this is a movie for grownups.
