Review of Hostiles (2017) by Jaime L — 28 Jan 2018
Brutal slow paced story featuring anger and retribution with regret and acceptance. Certainly not a fun watch but Christian Bale and Rosmund Pike really make this film over the perhaps simplistic protection mission of bringing a few Native Americans from New Mexico to Montana. Character moments are what really drive Hostiles I think. to show us the terrible consequences that war and the grudges they leave.
Theater where I saw this was full so I hope its getting plenty of eyeballs on it, don't want Hostiles to go under the radar, go see it! Though be warned the content can be disturbing.
