Review of Hostiles (2017) by Daniel S — 02 Feb 2018
Though "Hostiles" is beautifully shot and boasts an A-list cast at the top of their game, this slow-burning Western tends to get bogged down in narrative contrivances and meandering scenes that far outstay their welcome.
The film is certainly not without its captivating moments, and die-hard Western fans may find more respite in it than the average movie-goer, but its sluggish 135-minute runtime leaves much to be desired.
One can't help but walk away feeling as though "Hostiles" could have been something greater and more profound.
