Review of Hostiles (2017) by Justus F — 24 Feb 2018
This is a great film. I enjoyed the fact that, this film proves that you don't need a crazy huge budget, or visually epic ambiance in the film to make it a great western classic. ill use these two films as a reference, DJANGO UNCHAINED AND THE REVENANT.
two great films, however take away the lush and wide landscape shots, and what do you have left? Its debatable, but this film proves you don't need all the bells and whistles that come with a western drama.
will I watch this again? probably not, if I catch it on TNT in the future I might let it play....Good story, GOOD ACTING, Great location/ time period...ITS A WIN WIN FOR THIS GENRE...I love the contrasting dynamics of friendship and human emotions, like instinct and survival, but also love and tenderness.
.I don't want to give the movie away so ill just shut up and give it 4 stars....PEACE.
