Tragically ignorant misogynistic b******t... which is a shame, as the horror parts of the movie are really well done.
I kept hoping that a big parallel was going to be drawn between the oppressive creepiness of Jack and the well realised monster, and while a link was drawn between the two characters, it ended up celebrating a stalkerlike abusive relationship as romantic. And if you see this as a love story then you should really check your definition of love.
