Review of Hostel: Part III (2011) by Brandon S — 30 Dec 2012
The most unmotivated and tactless film I've seen in years.
Looking back on my horrible movie experience I have no idea why I watched it in the first place. This dull concept and fantastically unrealistic and boring, gore-filled is a thoroughly unenjoyable experience. Horror films have surely become dumber and dumber, I foresaw that, but this is a whole new level of dumb. The dialogue is so insulting. At one point the soon-to-be wife of the lead actually tells him "don't bang any strippers". Are you kidding me? This is just sad.
The characters are cliché, overused, overacted and stupid. The partyer, the miserable married man looking to get laid, the attractive engaged guy, and the intellectual. Another big problem I had was just the severe lack of realism. I never expect films like this to be realistic but wow! For instance at one point a man sends his friend a picture of a bird's eye view of a building, who does that?
I have no idea why I watched this abysmal piece of unoriginal garbage but I did and now it's branded in my memory forever. Movies like this are exactly why the slasher genre is totally dead.
