Review of Hostel: Part II (2007) by Matthew E — 27 Oct 2009
Boring and a big let down.
I had some high hopes for Hostel 2. The first Hostel did set a bar for its sequel but sadly Hostel 2 was horrible. This is one of those movies that didn't need a sequel.
The story starts off where the first one left off. The story is similar to the first but this time they use a girl as the lead character. This time they show more of the underground killer group or whatever it is. It really didn't do much for the movie. To me it was too much talking and not enough killings.
I found the movie to be very boring and the characters didn't help either. I didn't feel any feelings towards the charactes and was not very interested in them either. The two men who want to kill somebody became very annoying. The character development was poorly done.
Hostel is known for its very graphic violence. This was a big let down. There far more better deaths in the first film. Other than one death sence that was done, none of the others was worth seeing.
Hostel 2 was poorly made. If the film markers had spent more time on it and seen the crap they were filming this movie would have had hope. Sadly it fails horribly.
