Review of Hostel: Part II (2007) by Philip S — 28 Sep 2012
Eli Roth is smart enough to know that he can't play it the same way this time around. On the other hand, and I know this will sound strange in the context of the first film, the settings and horrific goings-on this time around seem too campy and over-the-top for the sequel's own good.
Sure, there's a strong story element here, and really the only part worthy of further expansion from the first one--that of the two men who are inducted into Elite Hunting. It's hard to say where to take all of this for the inevitable "Hostel 3.
".
