Honestly, I find Eli Roth to be one of the most important names in the horror genre at this moment. Not only does he make movies that are shamelessly disturbing, but at the same time, he loves horror movies and knows other ways to shock people besides severing limbs.

"Hostel" is Roth's biggest directorial achievement. I didn't enjoy it the first time, but the next viewing left me stunned and thrilled. What starts out as an "American Pie" type of comedy turns into something so intense and brutal, it's amazing how it gets away with what it does.

Two backpackers traveling through Europe in search of virginity loss stay in a hostel, where their expectations are shattered once they realize the nightmare they have put themselves in. "Hostel" is not an easy film to sit through.

Not only is it gleefully repulsive, but it touches on mental and political fears that we hate to think about. The fact that something like this could happen in another country makes "Hostel" that much scarier.

If you have a weak heart, stay the hell away from "Hostel." Those who want a gory rollercoaster ride filled with scares, torture, and boobs get exactly what they're looking for. Plus, the ending will have you cheering.
