Review of Hostel (2011) by Paul R — 04 Jul 2012
Amidst in the stale, lifeless horror genre, Eli Roth has created an ugly masterpiece. As sick, depraved and vile this film sets out to be, the disturbing effect it imprints on the viewer is effective and delivers on what horror is missing; an effect.
Despite the sloppy structure and crude and obnoxious behavior by our main characters, as the film progresses, it delves into even the most sickest forms of unapologetic torture and depravity conceived of at the time.
