Review of Hostel (2011) by Grant K — 21 Apr 2013
A demented, cruel, disgusting film that pushes the boundaries of free speech in cinema. If you like gory horror thrillers this is by far the most gruesome to come out of America. Not for the faint of heart, NOT for teens and really not for anyone in mixed company.
But I've got to hand it to Roth; he made one of the most horrifying, terrifying films I have ever seen, just on a story that's possible in real life. There are flaws aplenty, but there's more ambition than not.
Required viewing for die-hard horror fans.
