Review of Hostage (2005) by Dylan C — 21 May 2010
A must-see for action junkies. Bruce Willis is fine for this role, doing what he does best and always remaining believable. The story is also very engaging, as the movie evolves from a straight foreward plot to a double layered and more complex story.
The action is highly entertaining and suspenseful. However because the action is so eye-grabbing it takes over the plot at some points. This is too bad because the plot is more thought out than most action movie plots and seeing the story fall by the waistline compared to the violence makes the ending a little disapointing.
Despite these faults though, the movie is satisfying enough that I'd recommend this for anyone looking for an action-packed summer pop-corn film.
