Review of Hostage (2005) by Manny C — 11 Apr 2011
If you throw all of Bruce Willis' action films into one large pot you'd come up with something like Hostage, which as formulaic as Bruce Willis movies get. The story sees a mob accountant (Kevin Pollack) his bratty son and young daughter held hostage by three crazies.
Their only hope is Bruce Willis as a burnt-out L.A hostage negotiator who just happens to stroll into town to take a new job as police chief. So of course he's called back into duty to save the day.
Director Florent Siri shamelessly uses every suspense cliche known to man, mostly taken from Die Hard movies. It's awful.
