Review of Hostage (2005) by Jay L — 17 Mar 2012
"F**kin Rich People".
A nerve-zapping, heart-pumping, full-throttle thriller that doesn't quit or let up for one single second. A look into the world of hostage negotiation and the utter terrors that come with it. Director Florentine Siri crafts a wickedly intense no holds barred dramatic edge of your seat roller coasted ride through the depths of hell, this one will make your blood pump and pulse race no doubt about it. A terrifyingly and intensely realistic psychological work of stylish and radiant madness and anarchy. A damn good action thriller and an even better novel adaptation. The pages of the novel come to life in terrifying detail, it's a dark, edgy, radiant, gripping and completely horrifying experience gem start to finish. Hostage gets going from the intensely realistic first sequence and doesn't let off the gas for the entire duration.
Bruce Willis stars and he is back in Die Hard mode in this one, he gives a great performance throughout. Ben Foster is chillingly fantastic throughout, he gives another supremely disturbing performance.
