Review of Horsemen (2009) by Stephen K — 05 Nov 2009
Well if you take Se7en and remove every part of it that was good (including script, plot, acting, directing, violence, originality, etc), what's left would be Horsemen. A serial killer runs around torturing and killing people using the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse as inspiration (which is totally different than the Seven Deadly sins).
Dennis Quaid plays the detective that is on the case. Of course he is a widower and struggles balancing his workload with his two sons' lives. The movie really drops the ball with the lack of a decent script and plot.
The only upside of the movie is Quaids performance. He's still a good actor and is the lone beacon of hope for this film. The ending is so unrealistic it's almost laughable. So if you decide to watch it, be prepared to chuckle at the most emotional scene in the movie.
Don't feel bad either, I assure you you're not alone!
