Review of Horsemen (2009) by Bk B — 23 Jul 2009
On a superficial level this movie will remind just about everyone of Se7en. But this movie goes its own way and I'm happy for that. You can tell its a low budget feature because there's times where Quaid, a normally amazing actor, slips in his performance, but that didn't take me out of the movie.
The overall plot was a little confusing, not in the "I don't get it" way but in the "why is it happening this way" way. But the main reason I love this movie is simply because it LOOKS awesome.
Maybe film school opened my eyes to more (no maybe... it definitely did) but I was more captivated in how things appeared on camera than what was happening (though I still enjoyed the story). All in all, a good one-time-thru movie, take it or leave it.
