Review of Horror Express (1972) by Shawn E — 10 Aug 2009
This is rediculous. Even Telly Savalas gets his part in this. I guess I'm to use to the newer films that are much better acted and have splendid "horror" scenes. One person said, "Some quirky editing and the (possibly unique) opportunity of seeing Messrs Cushing and Lee battling a common foe, rather than one another, are the only pleasures on offer here.
Telly Savalas makes a brief, HAMMY AND ultimately POINTLESS appearance as a Cossack; even he is less irritating than the Rasputin-like monk, who spends two thirds of the movie boring us with sermonic guff and then flip-flops to the dark side, faster than you can say "Amen"!" Oh, my .
.. thats hitting it on the head. No matter how they try to "surprise" you who the bad guy is, you figured it out in no time. But, it is 1972 genre.
