Review of Horrid Henry: The Movie (2011) by Nick R — 26 Nov 2011
Mildly amusing, but fails to make best use of the talents involved here. Theo Stevenson is good in the title role. Anjelica Huston is a curious piece of casting as his Scottish teacher. We see too little of her, as we do of Noel Fielding, Prunella Scales and Jo Brand (who only appears to say two words in the whole film).
RIchard E Grant is good in check tweed, but not as manic as you might expect as the evil headmaster of a private school. Dick and Dom do their usual schtick, which oddly does not translate well to the big screen.
Not a great film, and not as good as the TV adaptations. And was that a Banksy sketch of Miss Battleaxe that I saw?
