Review of Horns (2013) by Matthew H — 06 Oct 2014

I had read the book before going into this movie so admittedly I hoped it could hold up to the original material. For the most part I'd say it does a good enough job at that. Although the movie does go in a little different direction for the end scenes.

I thought the first half of the movie was far more on point then the second half but was still pleased overall with the adaptation. Its it own thing and that's cool. I'm sure Mr. Hill is pleased also.

Daniel Radcliff does a pretty great job actually and leaves all the Harry Potter luggage at the door. He shows he does have range as an actor. Some of my favourite parts in the movie was Ig having fun with his powers, i.

E. the news reporters or the two cop partners. It was done well with just the right amount of humour and Radcliff plays it right. Juno Temple is also good and her scene in the diner really showed she can act on top of being awesomely nude in movies(which she is and its wonderful).

The towns folk are all pretty interesting and entertaining when Ig brings out the worst in them, literally. I don't know if the story is for everyone but I liked it a lot and would recommend it for a watch.
