Review of Horns (2013) by Lauren A — 24 Feb 2015
I really didn't know what to think about "Horns". I had to watch it a second time to come to a rating for this movie. I will say that I am a huge fan of Daniel Radcliffe's. He was great in the "Harry Potter" franchise, and I really liked him in "The Woman in Black" and he is great here as well.
I am ready to see him break away from the supernatural movies and venture into other things. With that being said he did a very good job shedding the child image here. This movie has a very original concept and I was interested in it from the beginning.
The interactions with others, especially his parents, after he grows the horns was great and I loved the dialogue in this movie. The movie does seem a bit cliché. It wasn't hard for me to solve the murder and I was correct in my guess first time.
The film does have some pacing issues. It has a run time of about 2 hours and it really could have been about 15-20 minutes shorter. For the most part it is a fun horror flick with a whodunit thing going on and I liked this movie.
I saw it on Netflix so you can check it out.
