Review of Horns (2013) by Stefano F — 12 Apr 2015
Horns is a very unique and original fantasy thriller. The acting performances are exceptional and Daniel Radcliffe pulls off his very best performance to date. The movie is entertaining, funny and scary.
The script and dialogue feel very refreshing and the characters are well developed. Visually the movie looks impressive and the directing by Alexandre Aja (Piranha 3D) is really solid. The make-up effects are absolutely great.
Some scenes in the movie go on for too long and there are times when Horns can't quite decide which genre it wants to be: horror, comedy, fantasy, drama, thriller? I also thought the movie didn't exactly start on a high note, but it became better with each scene.
The soundtrack is really good. The final act of Horns is an absolute blast. Definitely a movie I highly recommend for the cast and original concept alone, especially if you're into witty dark humor.
