Streep forces her grumpy husband (Jones) to attend an intensive marriage counselling session led by Carell to reignite their marriage. Streep and Jones are a joy to watch - such strong, sincere performances.
Carell as the marriage counsellor is not given enough to do, though. The film manages to balance drama with comedy, and sweetness with awkwardness delightfully well.
