Review of Hope Springs (2012) by Kennedy L — 29 Jan 2013
Proof that nothing beats two good actors in sync, especially when they are visibly inspired, "Hope Springs" is a film trivial, but also historic for bringing the first time as a married couple the seasoned Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones.
From the first scenes the quality of this work is clear when only gestures can be transmitted throughout the emotional charge of lasting relationships. It's almost palpable to the viewer that the two characters portrayed here share a lifetime.
It is on this basis extremely firm, which will settle the other components of this comedy that puts a housewife frustrated, especially with their sex lives, seeking help from a couples therapist expensive and distant (Steve Carrel), dragging his husband to painful examination sessions.
With a correct direction, which really just makes room for the actors to shine, this is a production that ends up exceeding expectations.
