Review of Hope Springs (2012) by James C — 12 Jun 2013
Hope Springs is an excellent movie on a special topic that will interest those mature couples (gay or straight) about love, sex, and companionship. It offers a measure of catharsis to people who know what it is like to struggle with this less-talked-about subject of intimacy among long-term partners.
But to people who are in the middle of it, this movie is real, sincere and effectively portrayed by Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones. If American movies could be compared to art, Hope Springs is a Renaissance masterpiece by masterful artists.
People who are in the middle of it get it; and benefit from watching. This movie will not age.
