Review of Hope Floats (1998) by Dave C — 02 Dec 2007
It's a date flick that travels that line between being more then one expects it to be and promising to be more then what it actually is. But Sandra Bullock always seems to be stuck in that place. I will say though that this was one of her better films. It's got a human side of it that helps ground it and make it somewhat relatable.
If you're a diehard Bullock fan you'll really like this one. It doesn't disappoint in that regard. If you're hoping that Bullock may redeem herself here with a great film rather then middle of the road fare, then you may find yourself disappointed. But it says here that it's not a complete waste of time either.
