Review of Hooper (1978) by Mike C — 18 Dec 2008
This was fun to watch. It doesn't ask a lot from the audience, except to sit back and enjoy the wackiness, action and fun gags. Burt Reynolds is tremendous as the aging stuntman. Jan-Michael Vincent does well as the cocky young stuntman.
Sally Field is great as the scared girlfriend of Reynolds. And James Best puts in a fun pre-Rosco P. Coltrane from the Dukes of Hazzard performance. And Robert Klein is absolutely perfect as the director that doesn't care about te safety of his stuntmen, and only getting the picture he wants.
A fun movie that allows you to sit back and enjoy yourself without having to put to much thought into it.
