Review of Hook (1991) by Sean S — 09 Nov 2012
Robin Williams has proven he can be endearing, but here it's a little offputting having him go from business-first lawyer Peter Banning to born-again child Peter Pan in grown-up form. Maggie Smith as an old Wendy Darling, the Lost Boys and Dustin Hoffman as the "antagonist" Hook may lend the film its early '90s retro-chic charm, but Hook can look as magical as it wants: it falls flat when trying to do anything new or match up to Spielberg's other work.
