Review of Hook (1991) by Shane M — 31 Mar 2014
The film started out the way Spielberg liked it, and the direction he wanted to take, which is recognizable, but the moment we enter Neverland, the film takes a seeming downward trajectory to a more generic kid film.
Though this is a childhood classic, and thus a good film in the eyes of those that saw it in their youth, it does have it's issues that can't be ignored when you watch it as an adult. I love it, but it's not the greatest film ever.
