Review of Hook (1991) by Lino N — 08 Oct 2011
I don't know why this movie got mixed reviews, mainly negative.
It has a good story, great action sequences, and a great climax. It also has probably one of John William's best scores.
Hook had a stellar cast. Robin Williams did a great job as Peter Pan, Dustin Hoffman was pretty good as Captain Hook, and Julia Robert was good as Tinkerbell.
Steven Speilberg did a really great job with this movie. This is definitely one of Steven Speilberg's best movies.
I know people who didn't like the fact that here the Peter Pan character is grown up, but in this movie it definitely works. I've never thought of this movie to be a sequel to the story of Peter Pan. However it is a Peter Pan movie that features it's own unique story, so I consider this to be apart of the many movies made of Peter Pan.
