Review of Hook (1991) by Cory C — 15 Oct 2012
In my opinion, Hook is the reason why no other Captain Hook in any other movie (aside from the Disney's depiction) ever measures up. Dustin Hoffman is the best captain hook I have ever known, and unfortunately I watched this movie at an early age, so every other hook has been a disappointment.
The layers with which this movie integrates and juxtaposes the ideals of Neverland with what's important about being a child and raising children is whimsical, and anyone who doesn't like this movie simply hasn't watched it.
Good movies take time - Rewatching this now as an adult has been superb - simply sublime.
