Having seen the original Hoodwinked, I expected some good things for a sequel. There's plenty of fertile ground to play with there. Unfortunately, it might have benefited from becoming a TV series instead.
Hoodwinked Too! Hood VS Evil takes a creative nosedive and becomes so formulaic and uninteresting that I had trouble getting through it. Sure the animation is pretty good (not great), but the story and the way it played out was just awful.
Even the presence of some newcomers like Amy Poehler doesn't save this one. It's a bit of a turd. Well, to be fair, it's not overly horrible, but it feels so direct-to-video that it's ridiculous.
A big letdown, and a major drop-off from its inventive predecessor.
