Hoodwinked Too.

Initial Reaction: Shouldn't it be Hoodwinked Two?

Main Characters.

Red, Wolf, Granny, Twitchy: New members of a secret service agency boiced by Hayden Panettiere, Patrick Warburton, Glen Close, and Cory Edwards.

Plot Summary.

When Hansel and Gretel are getting kidnapped by an evil witch, an agency called the Happily Ever After sends out their new recruits - Twitchy, Wolf and Granny (Red is undergoing training at some sister clan.).

But the plan to stop the evil witch goes wrong, and the witch gets her hands on the kids - and Granny.

When Red hears about her grandmother being taken prisoner, she's not happy. She's even less thrilled when the agency partners her up with Wolf (and Twitchy) The accusations fly and their investigation into the evil witch gets major hitches.

SCORING.

Main Characters.

These characters had some charm in them in the first film, but that all goes away after in the first half hour. I know Red and Granny can handle themselves in tough situations despite being cute or old, and I know Twitchy is over hyper. But the film doesn't put any new wrinkles in these four. SCORE: 4.

Supporting Cast.

I really didn't enjoy the witch that kidnaps Hansel and Gretel (or Hansel and Gretel), and this film piles on way too many oddballs (several characters from the previous film, a singer, a second group of secret agents and evil pigs). There's no rhyme or reason for piling on these characters. SCORE: 4.

Plot.

Just like the characters, the plot seems to go on and on - from meeting with the evil rabbit in the original to the battle with the pigs to the battle with a large spider to the disciplinary meetings with the head of Happily Ever After. SCORE: 4.

Originality.

The fractured fairy tales have been done - and done better - in the Shrek franchise (and I've seen this time of stuff in Happily N'Ever After, but I found that film to be awful.) SCORE: 4.

Violence Factor.

There's a lot of fighting in this movie - mostly the superhero type fight where the good guys take a pounding, but get back up and aren't phased. But at least they don't say "You could get hurt" because the characters never get hurt. SCORE: 6.

Other Moral Issues.

This is supposed to be about a group of individuals learning to become a team, but it felt contrived. SCORE: 4.

Final Score (out of 60): 26 % Score: 43.33%.

Too much plot, too many characters, and a forced conflict is what went wrong with this film.
