While in the first one you can forgive the poor animation because of the really creative story line and fun dialogue. This one it's hard to. But then again maybe this is the look and feel they had wanted and if that's the case I won't bash them for it.

The sequel seems uninspired and poorly conceived. Nothing clever here. A few witty moments strung together into an adventure movie that isn't nearly as fun or cleverly told as the first. Some characters were just thrown in because they were liked and didn't serve any other purpose, other characters just seemed odd and uninteresting, and the main characters, while true to their original conceptions, were stuck in a weaker story.

Everything that made the first movies story different and non-linear was just thrown out the window. Then the theme is different. While the first one was the story of Little Red Ridding Hood told in an investigation this takes elements of Hansel & Gretel but then that's it.

I wanted to get the full fairy tale story retold in the unique way again. That being said I did very much enjoy the first half of this. But then I found my self slowly getting more bored. Patrick Warburton comes in with his A game.

Brad Garrett is always a welcomed voice. All the things I didn't like about this. I do have to say it's still a lot better then Shrek 2 - 4. Which never got a laugh out of me.
