Review of Hoodwinked! (2005) by Theclown64 — 17 Aug 2019
Hoodwinked is a strange film, but at the same time fun and sparkling.
Each scene captures the attention of the public. The story begins with a hilarious scene, which sums up the tone of the film, that is, a detective and comic tone. The feature continues with the testimonies of the little girl with the red hood, the wolf, the woodcutter and the granny.
The film is nice and snappy, which children will love! The only problem with the film is animation, which takes away quite a few points from the final vote. The animation is a bit woody, the humans seem to be made of plastic and the facial expressions and movements are not always pleasant, but the fur of animals is very well done, especially for a low-budget production. The ending is predictable, but after all this is a film for children. In conclusion, Hoodwinked manages to entertain with its clever gags and some slapstick skits. The main characters are very interesting and funny and the story is a beautiful reference to detective films. Animation will not compete with Pixar and Dreamworks productions, but the film as a whole is smart enough and fun enough to get attention.
