Review of Honeymoon (2014) by Sunny W — 01 Nov 2016
A low-budget horror movie with a lot of allegory and some body horror, Honeymoon will leave you thinking.
At face value, Honeymoon isn't great. For those looking for a movie with jumpscares and a clear enemy that the protagonist must defeat, look elsewhere. There is no pretty bow to wrap this film up.
A sort of indie invasion of the body snatchers, it's with this comparison that things become interesting. Dissecting this film as allegory for relationships after marriage, after a pregnancy or after a traumatic event, is where it goes above and beyond the run of the mill low-budget horror flick.
Definitely worth a watch, Honeymoon will leave you questioning who exactly is in bed beside you.
