Review of Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993) by Terri H — 28 Aug 2009

This was a childhood favourite of mine. Such a beautiful movie. A simple concept for a movie; two dogs and one cat on a journey back to their family - Disney hit a winner with this one.

It holds such a sentimental value for me, for personal reasons, more now than it did as a child, but it really touches me.

My favourite of the three is the golden retriever - Shadow, the oldest and wisest. Also have Chance an American Bulldog puppy with some wit. And the cat Sassy, who seems quite the posh girly girl. You fall in love with the three characters, forgetting they are animals, and that their mouths aren't moving when they talk, but that doesn't matter.

Sassy: It's like I said all along, poopsie: cats rule and dogs drool.

Chance: Oh, get a life. Get nine of 'em.

Sassy: But it's true. Cats are smarter than dogs, and more attractive... and we don't drink from the toilet!

This will always be a favourite of mine.
