I've been largely skeptical of Jason Statham's choice of material for a couple of years now, but when I heard James Franco was playing the villain I became cautiously optimistic. I was wrong,and I shouldn't have been.
It's not terrible, but it is certainly not good. Slow on action and too much formulaic sentimentality, I cannot recommend this. Go back and watch Statham's underrated 2011 actioner THE MECHANIC instead.
