While the action part of this movie isn´t the best, the actual message it wants to deliver is hard to oversee:

It´s about the fights of the USA in their own country (Homefront). Drugs, organized crime and lack of family support are just a few big topics that are raised. On the micro level it´s the toxic behavior of a single person, Cassie Bodine Klum starting the feud, which causes trouble as well as the away looking Police Officer. To me it seems that Homefront wants to deliver a message which was quite overlooked by some viewers.
