Review of Home Sweet Hell (2015) by Aika I — 30 May 2016
I loved the film! I'm so surprised by all the negative reviews. It's not a romantic comedy but a DARK comedy. It had plenty of shocking moments that had me covering my mouth and even laughing at some of the scenes. Especially with Mona (played by Katherine Heigl). Many think her acting was poor but I think she was spot on. She played the social psychopath so well, with moments when you could see her craziness shine through her seemingly-perfect image she tries to portray to everyone (but importantly to herself). And Patrick Wilson was the wonderful window through which we could see her psychopathic psychology.
The film was unpredictable, dark, a little absurd, and funny. Definitely different from many mainstream films, especially with all their predictable happy endings.
And for the Grey's Anatomy fans, it was fun to see Izzie and Owen interacting with each other, although their characters might say otherwise.
