Review of Home Run (2013) by Stanley G — 18 Mar 2013
I have previewed this film in an advanced screening. In my opinion it is one of the BEST inspirational films that I have seen to date. It tackles some tough topics (alcoholism, drug and porn addiction, sexual abuse, etc.
) in a well-written story line that does not offer an easy way out -- but yet offers real hope for change and healing. The center of the change-mechanism is a 12-step program called Celebrate recovery.
Well filmed, written and acted, it is watchable by almost the whole family (maybe 12 and up). Kids will enjoy the younger leads and the little-league part of the story. If you like a positive film -- don't miss this! I give it 5 stars without hesitation! And most who were at the screening would agree.
