Review of Home on the Range (2004) by Jessica V — 30 Jun 2011
I was shocked, surprised and flabbergasted by the negative reviews I see on the web, I thought that Disney's final 2D animated film happens to be one of their best works yet. And also I love a good western film.
The animation and backgrounds are pretty, it has a retro appeal to it like some of the other Disney Classics - from the 1950s that is. The film also has an excellent soundtrack with some of today's best Country artists like : k.d Lang,Bonnie Rait and Tim McGraw. And I thought the characters are very appealing too - my favorites being Buck, Lucky Jack and Grace.
I was also shocked in finding out that this film will be the last 2D film from Disney. I have always loved the classic 2D films ever since I was little and I always will. I mean 3D's great and all but it's not like fascinating and beautiful as 2D. So I say those of you who love 2D feature films like me, I say: "EMBRACE THE FLATS, PEOPLE!" Overall I give this film two thumbs up.
