Review of Home of the Brave (2006) by Darin H — 02 Nov 2007
What is with this movie? Yes it is poignant, but it is also an absolute embarrassment! What a disgrace the the U.S Army! Who is this guy Irwin Winkler? He needs to take a lesson from guys like Steven Spielberg, and Mel Gibson! And whoever wrote the actual script, needs to be taken out and shot! That's some of the worst dialogue that I've ever seen in a movie! Not to mention the horrible acting that made it almost unbearable! It really is a shame, because this is a wonderful storyline that is incredibly relevant in today's society.
This movie/storyline could've won an oscar! But Irwin Winkler and his collection of horrible actors wrecked it for us. I should say that Samuel L. Jackson, and Christina Ricci gave good performances; but the rest of them DEFINATELY need to go back to acting school.
Oh, and this movie SCREAMS low budget; how could MGM put their stamp of approval on such a disaster? A good storyline like this needs to be done by seasoned professionals, both in acting and directing; not rookies.
WOW - I am disgusted, with EXTREME prejudice.
