Review of Home of the Brave (2006) by Brad S — 19 Jan 2008

I don't know why this movie got such a bad rating on IMDB. Maybe because it is politically delicate and also because some people may have thought this was supposed to be an action movie but it isn't.

I have to agree that some acting is awkward and there are some clichés, but I say that it took a lot of guts to do a movie like this now. Playing those parts like that is difficult and the direction probably doesn't help.

I think that this movie is worth seeing if you want to have a glimpse of what it is for soldiers when they come back from war. This is a glimpse of course, and this is hollywood so it is not supposed to show how it is for ALL soldiers, nor should it be a perfect depiction.

That would be impossible.
