Review of Home of the Brave (2006) by Lacy M — 26 Sep 2008
How can one of the first dramas about the Iraq war be so unoriginal? I canâ??t decide if the director failed at making any of the main players sympathetic, or if he succeeded in making them seem psychotic.
There isnâ??t much of a middle ground in this film, but what it does consistently provide is a bleak, depressing picture of former soldiers. Add to the filmâ??s general ineptness the fact that itâ??s probably a little too soon for this topic to be blasted onto the screen.
Whereâ??s the escapism in that?
