Review of Home of the Brave (2006) by Brian W — 06 Nov 2007
Starts out kind of iffy, but I guess it has a good message at the end, depending on what you think about the war and why we're there to begin with.
It's a good film, and worth watching, but most of the storylines seem to be laid on pretty thick. Plus, some of the acting is god awful (especially in the first half hour, and I now find myself wanting to shower after being subjected to 50 Cent).
Not enough time is spent with Murray's character and his family/friends (Ricci's part is queerly small and a waste).
Even tho it comes off a bit like an After School Special (where's Tracy Gold when you need her?), it's still worth the watch if only to stop and think for a moment.
