Review of Home for the Holidays (1995) by Bryan C — 08 Dec 2008
Not the comedy romp that the title and cast would suggest. It's actually a small drama with humorous moments set in a very real world with complex characters with involved relationships. It doesn't pay off big time, but it's pleasant and feels a lot like family - one that doesn't get along so well.
The actors are all very frail and likable, esp. Holly Hunter. Script by W.D. Richter (Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Big Trouble in Little China) from a short story.
